Yesterday was a beautiful, blustery autumn day! Perfect weather for the EEHDA Fall Garden tour! Follow along with me on the tour. Here are the highlights of the docents, homeowners and characters I met along the way. And some beautiful garden photos, as well!
Thank you so much to all our homeowners who opened their gardens to us. Also a big thank you to everyone that donated silent auction items, trips, and weekends. And a big hug and thank you to all the many volunteers that put in their time in creating this fantastic event!

Three days to go til the EEHDA Fall Garden Tour!

The first stop on Saturday is the The Cottage at 1501 Post Office. Meet up on the back deck to buy a ticket and pick up your bracelet. This will be your garden pass.
Here will be your chance to peruse the silent auction items! There’s something there for everybody. Check out our two speakers for the day! The seminars are free but you must pre-register as seats are limited.

Robert Alderdice Park
If you need to relax during the excitement of the Fall Garden Tour, don’t miss our small park on the corner of Ball St and 15 th Street. Right in its center proudly stands one of the original Rosenberg fountains.
Have a seat on the benches to rest and enjoy the garden, or even grab a book from the Little Free Library .
The park’s namesake is Robert Alderdice. In the 1970s he was an integral part of a group of young professionals that created the Galveston East End Historical District Association. Sadly, in 1978,while this new little park was still in planning stages, Robert suddenly passed away. The park is named in his remembrance.
