Family Support Night  was a huge success! We had such a wonderful turnout, learning, and support. Thank you to every families who attended- your presence mean more than you know a big, heartfelt shout-out to our amazing guest speakers: Ms. De’Jah Dorsey with the University Federal credit Union along with her wonderful team members: Elizabeth Brantley, Alexis, Gonzalez, Camille Bohe, and Sean Peña. Your presentation on financial safety and fraud prevention was powerful, practical, and so appreciated by our families. And a big thank you for sponsoring all of the refreshments on tonight. Join Turtle Island Restoration Network in Galveston on Tuesday, June 16th, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm CT for the World Sea Turtle Day Beach Cleanup!

Be part of the solution during the Kemp’s Ridley nesting season to combat ocean plastic pollution!

This year, we’re hosting a local cleanup on the beach under Murdochs, 2215 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX 77550, USA, and you’re invited to make a difference right here on our island. Help us restore the natural beauty of Galveston’s coastline while connecting with like-minded community members and learning about the sea turtles of the world, and the one’s in the Gulf!

Volunteers will collect litter along the beach and record the types of debris found, contributing valuable data to global pollution tracking efforts. It’s a laid-back, family-friendly event with a meaningful mission — and your actions directly support critical sea turtle nesting areas and marine habitats.

Let’s clean up, connect, and care for our coast together. We hope to “sea” you there!

We recently celebrated our 2nd annual “Fun Day” at Carbide Park. Our clients and staff had an amazing time, enjoying the sunshine, playing all kinds of games, sharing great food, and laughing together throughout the day. Days like this reminds us how special our Sunshine Center family truly is. We also celebrated Whitney‘s birthday. Check out our photos and see all the smiles for yourself.
