Yesterday, someone made a comment toward one of our members that they shouldn’t be in MOD Ice Cream House eating ice cream while on duty. Contrary to this person’s belief, officers are allowed to eat on duty and a good cold ice cream cone from MOD is refreshing in this heat.

Most importantly, we support our members in supporting local businesses so today GMPA invited all officers who were available to MOD ice cream house and we paid the bill. GMPA is extremely happy to support not only our members, but our local business.

While on patrol last night, Sergeant P***a saw Angel digging through a trash can looking for food. A lot of our members know Angel, and he’s always been polite and respectful. Sergeant P***a took it upon himself to provide Angel with a burger, fries and an ice cold drink. Thank you Sergeant P***a for continuing to assist our beloved community.

The family of one of our very own GMPA members has put this amazing idea together. Any support from our community is greatly appreciated. As a police officer, we feel helpless at times when there is a sensory overloaded child that we have a hard time calming down.

These times often arise from things such as a motor vehicle crash or if the child is located after being lost and we are awaiting the arrival of a parent. If you’re feel led to assist in this great cause please follow the link below and donate what you can.

GMPA is continuing our efforts to do more to recognize and show appreciation to our retirees. We recently presented a retirement firearm to Sergeant Joe Millo who retired after 23 years of service to the Galveston Police Department and the citizens of Galveston.
