Good afternoon, everyone! Frontera de Salud's officer application for the 2023-2024 year is now open. We are an interprofessional organization dedicated to local service in the communities of Galveston while also traveling to Presidio/Brewster county to learn about border health and what we can do for their communities. Please consider joining the officer team if you're interested in a position! We have expanded our Liason role to each school and created an Ambassador role for those who are graduating relatively soon and cannot stay on for the full academic year but would like to join the leadership team and help out!

If you're interested in attending the Frontera de Salud mission trip to Presidio county and Alpine, Texas during this winter break from Saturday, December 17th to Thursday, December 22nd, please fill out the interest form below:

We are looking at taking up to 16-18 Frontera members and will be accompanied by Dr. Norma Pérez and Dr. Joseph Kotarba. Precedence will be given to active members, however, it's not too late to join our organization! We will pay for travel expenses, lodging, and some meals! A trip meeting will be held on December 5th at 12pm for more information and an official sign-up will be sent then too.

Shoutout to these Frontera de Salud volunteers! They volunteered this past Saturday to check blood pressure and blood sugar levels for the Casa El Buen booth at the St. James Health Fair. Rain or shine, Frontera was there to serve the community!

Hey everyone! A new UTMB organization called Migrant Health Initiative is having a COVID health fair on May 22nd from 1pm-5pm in Houston for the refugee population in the area. This is a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and how to provide healthcare to them. The health fair is associated with Harris County Public Health, Memorial Hermann Health System, and CHAT (a non-profit working with the refugee population).
