We say goodbye today to League member Leslie Nolan. He was hard Corps. Years back Joe Vickery and I were selling raffle tickets down on the Strand and Joe saw Leslie walk by, he yelled at him to come back and made him buy a ticket….Leslie ended up winning a brand new Harley!

Galveston Marine Corps League Detachment #668 had a tremendous amount of support for a Honor Service for fallen Marine Ernesto Gomez at the Malloy funeral home located on Broadway Street on Galveston Island Thursday evening 16 July 2026.

Galveston Marine Corps League Detachment 668 members participated in the annual Flag Day event with Galveston Elks Lodge #126 on 14 June 2026. Local Boy Scouts put on a program presenting the progression of American flags from the beginning of United States to present. There was also a program on the proper disposal of worn American flags retiring them appropriately. The worn flags were burned in a fire pit one by one as Greg Krueger member of Galveston Marine Corps League Det 668 played taps with Lyn and Steve Franks members saluted during the playing of taps.
