All Master Masons in Good Standing with the Grand Lodge of Texas are invited to please join us for our Stated Meeting on Monday, March 30th, 2026. The meeting begins at 6:30PM in the Egyptian Room at the Galveston Scottish Rite Temple.
*ALL ATTENDING THE FESTIVE BOARD MUST PURCHASE A TICKET;
LAST DAY TO PURCHASE A TICKET IS MARCH 23rd. OUR CATERER MUST HAVE THE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES 1 WEEK PRIOR. Thank you all for understanding.
Our Festive Board will be a catered meal following the meeting in the dining area of the Scottish Rite Temple, and the wonderful Members of La Marque Chapter #979 Order of the Eastern Star will be providing our desserts.

Gunsight Lodge #838 is very pleased to announce that on December 29th, 2025 Brother Tommy Chance Chapman was honored by a unanimous vote of our Members as the first recipient of our Copper Plate Award. He was presented the award by our Worshipful Master in the presence of over 2 dozen Master Masons at our December Festive Board.

Copper plating is added to a ship to protect the wood below the waterline from damage and decay. It maintains the ship’s structural integrity while helping the vessel cut more efficiently through the water, increasing the likelihood the ship’s journey and mission will be successful.

In like manner, the faithful labors of dedicated Brethren preserve the unseen virtues of the Lodge, uphold the integrity of the craft as it pursues its mission, and ensure that its voyage through time remans steady, honorable, and true.

We therefore recognize our Treasurer Tommy Chance Chapman who has demonstrated exemplary dedication to the Craft, upheld the honor, stability, and moral integrity of Gunsight Lodge as a steadfast mariner preserves the seaworthiness of his vessel through diligence, discipline, and devotion.

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, we’re walking with purpose, and we want you to be part of it! Shriners Children’s Texas is proud to announce our very first annual Trot for Love. This scenic 1-mile walk goes through the historic east end of Galveston and concludes at the hospital with a fun, family-friendly carnival.

Every dollar raised supports our hospital and ensures kids with acute burns, orthopedic conditions, and cleft lip and palate receive world-class care, regardless of a family’s ability to pay or insurance status.

Mr. Riley, the feline mascot of the USS Texas, who was born on the ship and went through the July 3, 1898 Battle of Santiago de Cuba on board. The young gentlemen who assisted him to have his portrait taken is the son of the captain, Captain Phillips.
