Did you know Saltwatersoul Apparel Co. was born from a desire to describe the symbiotic relationship we have with the ocean? Our founder, Billy Ray Wagner, has always given back where he could to the oceans that give him life from its bounty of fish to its therapeutic healing powers. He began using the term “Salt Water Soul” to describe himself and like minded individuals who would do cleanups with him and the phrase and t-shirts took off! He partnered with our co-founder, Tom Vaughn, who brought years of apparel printing experience to the table and the brand was born. We have added Keith and Jordan Bassett as owners who have further expanded our brand with their incredible design and business acumen… and through 17+ years, we have never forgotten our roots. Salt Water Soul gives 10% of our sales to cleanups along our bays, bayous and beaches. Our Shore Patrol unites volunteers and organizations who have incredible missions on their own, but what ALL of them have in common is truly a Salt.Water.Soul. ❤️🌊♻️💪

Thank you Galveston County Daily News for coming out to highlight our Seawolf Park Cleanup. The Galveston Park Board of Trustees and their incomparable Environmental Angel (not her proper title, but if you haven’t met Elizabeth Schneider at the Galveston Park Board you MUST), the Galveston Police Department’s INCREDIBLE Dive Team (LT. Sean Migues did so much work to coordinate the divers and the currents were 😳), the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research sorted EVERYTHING the volunteers, our AMAZING Shore Patrol volunteers, brought in, the City of Galveston, Texas - Government and Visit Galveston provided incredible support through media and sweat equity yesterday!

It was an amazing morning! More pics and video to come, but massive props to Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research, Galveston Park Board of Trustees, Galveston Police Department, Saltwater-Recon.com, Galveston Naval Museum, DavidJames.info, City of Galveston, Texas - Government for all of your incredibly hard work, your donations, your time and your shared love of our marine life, ecosystem and community. Thank you so much to EVERYONE!! Can’t wait to show you all that the Galveston PD’s Dive team cut loose from the pier, all the debris our volunteers brought in and ALL THE MONOFILAMENT (fishing line) the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research sorted for recycling! We’ll post the total weight when the last is weighed. Thank you all! Get some water and rest! ❤️🌊♻️💪

I guess the word is out! We’ve organized another Seawolf Park Cleanup!

Salt Water Soul Shore Patrol will be working in concert with Galveston Police Department’s Dive Team, the Galveston Park Board of Trustees team and all volunteers to collect as much litter and debris from the shore and under the pier (go dive team!) as has ever been attempted. Thank you Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research for reaching out to us to organize, we appreciate the faith and trust and the opportunity to give back. Thank you to the City of Galveston, Texas, Galveston Naval Museum, Saltwater-Recon.com and DavidJames.info for the laundry list of donations, services and assistance without which we could not do this. 💪♻️🌊

Salt Water Soul Shore Patrol has been asked to organize another cleanup out at Seawolf Park with the Galveston Park Board of Trustees! This time we are incredibly fortunate to have the Galveston Police Department's Dive Team stepping up to help our marine life in the Seawolf Park area! This Thanksgiving we are thankful for our Shore Patrol volunteers, our community partners and all of our island inhabitants above and below the waterline!

Happy Holidays and THANK YOU from the bottom of our salty hearts for all of your help cleaning up the shoreline out at Seawolf Park. ❤️🌊♻️

Thanks to all of you we removed approximately one ton of debris from the shoreline, sorted through and sent off the monofilament for recycling. Our Shore Patrol brought it in (thank you to the Park Board for the grabbers and barrels!) and the Texas Master Naturalists sorted it for recycling.

What: Clean-Up of the shoreline leading up to Seawolf Park

When: Sunday, November 20th, 8am-10am.

Where: 100 Seawolf Park Blvd, Galveston, TX 77550

Why: 7 Sea Turtles have been rescued in this area in the last few weeks entangled in monofilament.

What's Provided: Equipment for Clean-Up, Breakfast bites, water, safety vests and swag bags for the first 100 who sign up in the link provided below AND show up!

What to Wear: Closed toe shoes, warm clothes (temps of 55-64 degrees expected.)

What We Encourage Volunteers to bring if they own them: Gloves (heavy-duty rubber, work, garden or oyster), a bucket, shears or wire cutters (for your own personal use) and a chair to rest in when you need to.

Our Saltwatersoul Apparel crew teamed up with Turtle Island Restoration Network - Gulf of Mexico here at Artist Boat’s World Oceans Day Festival. We’re making reusable bags out of shirts we can’t sell for one reason or another and “talking trash” to spread the word about our waterfront clean-ups!. 🌎🌊

We’ll be here until 4:30PM out at East Beach. Come out to this free educational festival! 🌎 🌊
