PRESS RELEASE FOR CALLS ON SUNDAY 8/30/26
So, Sunday started out busy for the dedicated members of the Gallupville FD. At approximately 6:50 this morning we were dispatched for an EMS call with our department responding with Fire personnel and EMT's. Our patient was transported by the Schoharie County Ambulance to the appropriate facility. As we cleared that call and our members returned home, we were then dispatched at 8:26 for a reported personal injury auto accident (PIAA). Responding members were made aware that this was for a down motorcyclist and involving a large tree and live wires. Upon arrival of the first GFD officer on scene, dispatch was advised to launch the Life Net helicopter and that 443 was completely blocked. As the EMT's from Gallupville Fire Department went to work on the patient, our firefighters went to work on closing the road, securing the scene and choosing a landing zone. Patient care continued with the cooperation of GFD, Scho-Wright Ambulance and Schoharie County Paramedic, until the arrival of the helicopter, when we transferred care to them for transport to Albany Medical/Trauma Center. We wish the patient our best. With the assistance of Schoharie Fire Department, NYS Police, Schoharie County Sheriffs, Schoharie County 911 Dispatchers, Scho-Wright Ambulance, Schoharie County EMS Paramedic, National Grid and Asplundh Tree Service the scene was cleared and the road was opened to alternating 1 lane traffic. Thank you to all of those agencies that came out to assist with these calls today.
