What is squared?

This week the highschool students learned how to frame walls and determine if everything was square or not. They also learned the pros and cons of having a squared or not squared wall and how that can effect your building as you continue to build.

The Industrial Workforce Program was honored to receive the 2026 Talent Development & Retention Award from New Mexico IDEA during the Governor’s Economic Development Conference.

This annual award, presented by the Governor, honors workforce development programs across New Mexico.

We want to thank the Greater Gallup Economic Development Corporation, including Bruce Armstrong, Patricia Lundstorm, and former Gallup Mayor Louie Bonaguidi, for presenting us with the award.

The entire IWP team was honored by this award, and we are excited to see what comes next as we continue to grow our programs.

Lastly, we want to thank the Southwest Indiana Foundation and all of you in the community for your support in our programs.

*10 Workforce Partners by September 14*

Five days ago, we shared our goal of welcoming *10 new Workforce Partners by September 14* to support this year's Industrial Workforce High School Program.

Today, we're continuing that push and asking businesses across our community to consider joining what we're building.

Our High School Program gives students the opportunity to learn skilled trades through both classroom instruction and hands-on experience. That hands-on training requires real materials, real equipment, and the same basic resources students will encounter in the workforce.

Right now, two of our biggest needs are *student uniforms and building materials*.

That's where our Workforce Partners come in.

Your contribution can help put a student in a proper work uniform, purchase lumber and other materials for hands-on training, support a specific class project, or be directed wherever the program needs it most.

We also welcome companies interested in supporting a particular project or need, regardless of sponsorship level. If there's a specific area of the program your company would like to support, we'd be happy to work with you.

We aren't simply looking for sponsors. We're looking for businesses that want to join us in preparing the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
