NWNM First Born Program

NWNM First Born Program First Born® encourages first-time parents to build strong family relationships by learning as much as possible about the growth and development of their child.

Northwest New Mexico First Born® is a home visiting program that offers free home visits to families with children under the age of five years old or Mother's who are expecting. Home visitors and developmental curricula provide mothers, fathers, and primary care providers with education and support to encourage normal growth and development of happy, healthy babies in positive, nurturing families.

The program builds family and community relationships by supporting the idea that a healthy pregnancy and childhood are not only critical to the immediate well-being of the child but are also basic to building a resilient family and healthy community.

🐟🎣💛New Mexico celebrates Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 6 & Sunday June 7, 2026. On this dates, you can fish in any public water across the state without a fishing license.

June 6th and June 7th is Free Fishing Weekend in Colorado. Fishing licenses are not required for these days but all other laws still apply (bag limits, size limits, and extra rods).

Come join us at the Mooring Cove parking lot from 10-noon on either day to improve your cast and get some free gear. All ages welcome!

It is that time of year!! We are so excited to launch this year's Gallup Summer Indian Dances & Art Market. These FREE events will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between June 2 and August 6 at Courthouse Square in Historic Downtown Gallup.

Our opening night will be 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. We are proud to host the Zuni Olla Maidens and Joe Tohonnie & White Mountain Apache Dancers for the opening event.
