Mosaic Foundation

Mosaic Foundation At Mosaic, we unite diverse elements—programs, resources, and people—into a harmonious whole that supports seniors and their caregivers.

Mosaic (Formerly Seashore Gardens Foundation) enriches the quality of life for the aged in southern New Jersey, guided by the Jewish tradition of caring and charity, and adapting to an ever-changing environment. Like the pieces of a mosaic, each contribution is unique and essential, creating a beautiful and impactful picture of care. Discover how we bring connection and care to aging individuals and their families.

There’s something powerful about soil, herbs, and familiar routines. In Golden Sunflowers Horticultural Therapy, participants engage the senses—touch, scent, color—and often rediscover stories and memories along the way.

Your gift helps Mosaic expand spring sessions at partner sites and build dementia-friendly activity kits. All gifts doubled until the $4,000 Brush & Bloom Match is unlocked: https://argentasoftware.com/interfaces/50329/frmDonationForm.aspx?CampaignID=5264

Congratulations to Juliette on graduating from Rutgers University! 🎓🌱

We are so proud to celebrate this incredible achievement and all the passion, creativity, and compassion Juliette brings to Mosaic. Through our therapeutic gardening program, part of Brushes and Blooms, she helps seniors experience the joy, connection, and healing benefits that come from getting their hands in the soil and spending time in nature.

Congratulations, Juliette — your Mosaic family is cheering you on as you continue to grow and inspire others!

Throwback Thursday: “With the groundbreaking for the Max and Bessie Rounick Pavilion, the hearts of the center’s officers and staff are already a little lighter because they know that soon a new addition will be erected on Elberon Avenue and they won’t have to turn away so many people in their hours of need.” This sentiment appeared in a brochure announcing the new pavilion, capturing both the urgency of the moment and the hope it inspired.

Today we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice remind us of the true meaning of freedom – and the importance of community, compassion, and care for one another.

We can’t wait to see Create 48’s newest mural 🎨🖌️

Atlantic City is getting its first public mural designed, painted, and installed entirely by seniors🎉🎉🎉.

Yesterday we met with Erin Luurtsema and Jason Goldstein of Mosaic Foundation to accept the check, alongside our lead artist Susan E. Daly and assisting artist Glenn Taylor, both working muralists and both seniors themselves.

We want people to actually think about who the seniors in their life are. Your coworker. Your kid’s favorite teacher. The artist behind the mural you stop to photograph downtown. A lot of them are already seniors, and you would never know it. They are running businesses, raising grandkids, mentoring the next generation, and putting in more work than most of us, with decades of knowledge they are ready to pass down if anyone bothers to ask.

Seen is built on that.
Working with Atlantic City Senior Services and sponsored by Mosaic, Create 48 AC is producing the first public mural in this city designed, painted, and installed by seniors. The themes come out of community sessions with the seniors themselves this summer, led by Sue and Glenn.

Their hands help build this city. Now their hands will help paint it 🎨

Huge thank you to Erin, Jason, and the entire Mosaic team.
More to come on session dates, the install site, and timeline.

🎉 Big news for the Katz JCC PWR Parkinson’s Program! 🎉

We are thrilled to share that our program has received a Program Grant from the Mosaic Foundation to help fund new equipment and supplies.

This support will directly enhance our ability to serve participants and continue building a stronger, more empowering program for our community.

We are deeply grateful for this partnership and excited for what’s ahead! 💙

Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner—the unofficial start of summer and a time when many families hit the road.

But if you’re traveling with a loved one living with dementia, the journey can come with unexpected challenges. Changes in routine, unfamiliar environments, and overstimulation can lead to confusion or anxiety, making thoughtful planning essential for a safe, smooth trip.

The good news? With the right preparation, travel can still be meaningful, manageable—and even enjoyable.
