We want to thank MWB William M. Carter III, Grand Master of Mason's in Ohio, RWB John W. Dixon, RWB Steven E. Wallis, WB William B. Thomas, Officers of Morning Dawn, and all fellow Brethren who helped celebrate the Bicentennial of Lafayette's visit to Gallipolis. MWB Carter was presented an Apron commemorating the historical event by RWB Dixon, and WM Terry Barcus before the festivities began. All attending Brethren then traveled to the riverfront to welcome "Gen. Lafayette" and Governor DeWine upon arrival. MWB Carter gave a great speech to the thousands in attendance and along with RWB Dixon, presented a commemorative Apron to the Our House Museum for display. It was a wonderful event and we thank all who were involved for their hard work to make this happen!

For those unaware, Brother Ryan Butcher suffered a stroke last week and has a long road to recovery. He has been transferred from St. Mary's to Holzer in Gallipolis, Room 531. Visitors may stop after 4pm. We know that Brother Butcher, his wife, and 3 young daughters appreciate the thoughts and prayers coming their way.

Dear Brethren,

You are invited to attend a public event commemorating the 200th anniversary of General Lafayette’s arrival in Gallipolis, taking place on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

The Lafayette reenactor will arrive by boat at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Gallipolis riverfront, located just two blocks from Morning Dawn Lodge No. 7.

As part of the ceremony, Morning Dawn Lodge No. 7 will present a commemorative coin to the reenactor and a Masonic apron to the Gallia County Historical Society.

We are honored to share that the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Ohio will be in attendance for this historic occasion.

All brethren are encouraged to attend in suit and tie to represent the fraternity with dignity and respect.

We look forward to your presence at this meaningful celebration.

It is with deep sadness we inform you of the passing of Worshipful Brother Jimmie D. Shato on Friday, April 18, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, April 23, 4:00-7:00 PM and a Masonic Service by RWB Robert Fellure will begin at 7:00 PM for any Brothers able to attend.

Brethren, It is with a heavy heart that we must report the passing of Brother Luzon L. McQuaid.
Brother McQuaid was called to lay down his working tools and repair to the supreme Lodge above on February 24th, 2025
Brother McQuaid was a 54 year member of Morning Dawn Lodge. Funeral services will be held at Willis Funeral Home in Gallipolis , Ohio on February 28th at 8:00pm by RWB Robert Fellure. All brothers are encouraged to attend if possible. Thank you. RWB John W. Dixon 33° Secretary

Luzon Lee McQuaid, age 78, of Sumner Road, Chester, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on February 24, 2025, with his family by his side. Luzon had been in deteriorating health for several months and was under the care of Ohio Health Hospice, Columbus and Athens, Ohio. Luzon was

We had the privilege tonight of honoring Worshipful Brother Dr. William "Bill" Thomas with his 60 year Masonic Service pin. Attending were Past Grand Master Ronald Winnett, Lodge Officers, Brothers and his wonderful Family and Friends!! A great evening indeed!

Morning Dawn Lodge #7 and the Valley of Gallipolis, Scottish Rite hosted the Annual Masonic Youth Holiday Dinner and tour of Gallipolis in Lights. Attending were Ohio Valley (Waverly) and Logan Assembly #164 (Logan)- Order of Rainbow for Girls, Job's Daughters Bethel #62 (Vinton), Tri Rivers (Athens) and Rufus Putnam (Marietta) Chapters, Order of DeMolay. After dinner, youth attendees were gifted a commemorative annual Christmas tree ornament from Gallipolis in Lights, then moved to the city park to enjoy this year's display. And of course we had a visit from Santa Claus and his favorite Elf!! We enjoy seeing our Masonic families and will be looking forward to next year! Merry Christmas.........
