OUR HUGS PROJECT THIS YEAR HAS BEEN CANCELED. THE ARMY CHANGES THINGS. WE WILL NOT BE MEETING UP ANYMORE. If you checked out a quilt kit, you may either return it or keep it and pass it on to someone who could benefit from a Hug from Home!

The young women of the Spring Hill Ward did service at Elite Arts Academy in Gallatin and made quilts for the Hugs From Home Quilt Project, a project to make quilts and send them to soldiers who are serving overseas. Some of the young women tied a quilt, while others designed patterns for quilt tops. The hour went by way too fast. The young women had a great time, knowing the quilts were being sent to soldiers.

We are going to change things up a bit. HUGS FROM HOME WILL MEET THE 1ST WEDNESDAY EACH MONTH instead of every week. Time restraints and health issues are limiting my ability to be at the studio every Wednesday. HOWEVER, we will have a quilt booth set up at the starting June 7th thru Chautauqua, Sept 20th. We're very happy to support the Market and support our deployed military!

Hugs from Home meet-ups will be canceled tomorrow ( 4/16) and next week (4/23) due to scheduling conflicts. Have a happy Easter everyone!

This Wednesday (April 9th) is back on schedule. We'll be focusing on laying out quilt tops, sandwiching quilts and tying them. I have around 10 more quilt top kits that can be checked out to sew. We need them back within 2 weeks to keep up. Come join the group and company.

We had a great turn out last night. The Young Women from Spring Hill Ward came and designed a few quilt tops as well as a few from Gallatin Ward. We have a goal of making 10 quilt kits every week to reach our goal. We made 12 yesterday! YAY! I didn't get a single picture :-(

Hoping to see you this Wednesday, March 26th at the in Gallatin. 112 N Market St. We NEED a bunch of quit tops designed for quilt kits. Great opportunity to be creative, socialize and get the family involved. Fabric squares are already prepared. We will also have 4 quilts that need to be tied. 10 am until 8 pm. Drop in anytime (except between 2-4 pm when we take a break).

UPDATE: WE WILL NOT BE MEETING TOMORROW, MARCH 19.
MEETUPS WILL RESUME ON MARCH 26TH. SORRY FOR THE LAST MINUTE CANCELATION.

Looking forward to seeing a few new faces tomorrow. Mostly we will be designing quilt tops and turning those into quilt kits to check out and sew at home. We also have a few quilts to tie and a big ginormus roll of batting to pre cut. Next week we will start sandwiching the layers together for more quilts to tie!
