Rural Health Transformation Program: Ambulance Funding Update

🚑 TNT2 PROGRAM UPDATE

TASA and TennCare have been working over the summer to revise the Tennessee Treat and Transport (TNT2) Program, which provides reimbursement opportunities for Treat-In-Place (TIP) and Transport to Alternate Destinations (TAD).

Two updates are included in the revised guidance dated July 30, 2026:

✅ Substantive Change
TennCare is allowing EMS to be reimbursed for EMS Treatment in Place without a Qualified Healthcare Partner (QHP).

🔄 Non-Substantive Change
The term “telehealth” services was replaced throughout the document with “remote access” services.
