People helping people is the best humanity has to offer- #

I often have to pinch myself when I think about all the people who have helped me along the way. It almost seems surreal at times.

Anyone who knows me I always say "It's one thing to have a vision, it's another to watch that vision come into fruition." (Most people say it in that Cowboy Jax drawl, pokin fun, ask Lynda Sullivan to do it sometime)

It truly is something though.

Context-
On this particular day we were lookin' for a retro apartment, I had seen this air bnb online in a town called Pleasant View, Tennessee and being the hands on director and producer I am, I had to scout it first before anyone else seen it.

Well unfortunately the air bnb wasn't available to look at, so in my brain I was like how can I pivot. To remedy my frustration I decided to talk the street...After all I was running out of time, to turn TN into New York especially a decades ago New York.

As I was walking down the street corner it was like a vision of the film flashed before my eyes on the right was a home that literally looked like what I needed for the 80s (this amazing tree drew me in) on the right the Pleasant View Fire Fighter station. Immediately shots and sequences started flooding my mind.

Cut to: Meeting walking up and down the street as a stranger, alerted the Police and Fire Fighter folks to take a particular interest (by interest who the hell is this Cowboy stranger taking photos).

Well once we were vetted and our intentions were established, wow what support and reception we received.

That first responder community made this short film possible, they gave us production value, they gave us a base camp, they gave us some great consulting to ensure our authenticity, and most importantly they gave us their blessing. They trusted we would represent them with authenticity.

It was uncanny how a failed scout for one thing led to our setup for a couple of different decades and very much a snapshot of what a suburb of New York looks like.

So are you helping people? Are people helping you? Are you giving the best of you to support the best we have in humanity?

Until next time, I'm Cowboy Jax, let's ride!

Oh the places we'll go- Dr. Seuss

So the film business is a very interesting place, we call it "movie magic" for a reason.

Context-
I knew that we wouldn't be able to film in New York, so I had to figure out how to transform Nashville TN into NYC, not only that it had to be during different time periods. So to create the authenticity was key.

The place-
I knew our main male lead character needed to graduate from the academy in the early 70's and I thought about creating a graduation space to scale 300 background extras etc, and looked into a few locations...

Then I spoke to Joesph Fischer (our NYC Police consultant) Joe said, why show the same thing every TV or movie shows? This is about the human condition right? Behind the badge? (In his thick NYC accent) So show behind the badge...

So I asked him what did graduates do after especially in the 70's, well our character Jack was Irish so thus we needed to create a vintage setting that would pass for that time frame.

Maggiano's was so considerate as was Maggiano's (corp) together with there help we were able to transport the viewer to 1974 in Chelsa NY.

Another great point Joe made was this was right after Vietnam, in the short film, you don't see alot of men, that's because we wanted to create an authentic scene and alot of women were widows at that time.

I could have chose to go big scale because it looks great on film, but then I would have lost the authenticity of the place and time. Thanks Joe for the great note!

Where are you? Is this the place? Is this the time? If not are you excited the places you will go?

Until next time, I'm Cowboy Jax, let's ride!

Timing is everything if it matters-

Almost 10 years ago, I was sitting in a house (was renting a room from a guy) and this idea came to me about his life. Now that song didn't come to fruition but the essence of it transformed into a song named Every Day Heroes.

Several times over the years we made an effort to get the music video made, but honestly it just wasn't time, either someone didn't get it, or the budget wasn't there, or the fit with cause wasn't right, at every turn the timing just wasn't there.

Fast forward two years ago, Tammy Thien asked me if I would ever do music again (long story) and I said not as a artist for self gain but to drive our mission at nvueproductions.org absolutely. She then asked what song I would do and I immediately said Every Day Heroes.

I pitched her the treatment for the music video that then turned into a short film, that then finally arrived with a backdrop of NYC and 9/11 thus it becoming a tribute short film Coming 2026 for the 25th anniversary of 9/11. All because of timing.

Truth be told the story hadn't found it's completion before it was supposed to. I don't want to give any spoiler away but my great friend and brother Marcus Trevor Beaufils helped me to look deeper and tell a better story.

So this story may have a backdrop of 9/11 before, during, and after... but it's really tells the story of Moms and Dads and the challenges they face with family, a family of whom we travel back to the 1960s all the way forward to 2 weeks after 9/11.

It was an honor to transform Nashville into New York and not just New York but different time periods. Over 50 Veteran hires happened on Every Day Heroes and we had amazing support from the First Responder community, the U.S.Veteran and our Community Neighbor (Non-Veteran).

As we roll out the campaign there will be so much more to share and tell but it is a blessing to finally be here on the first day of September to show you a sneak peek. The official trailer will drop 2pm on September 11th on our brand new You Tube channel.

You know that day a few days from now, we all still had different skin tones, different sexualites, religions, politics, and professions but in that moment we were all American, united for what would come next.

Well that time is now, we honor them the most in how

What matters to you? Are you paying attention to the proper time? Have you just given up because it didn't happen when you wanted it?
