Altrusa is an international volunteer service organization of business and professional leaders dedicated to improving the community. In Galesburg we focus on literacy by sponsoring a scholarship program, programs that benefit Galesburg High School North, Safe Harbor, Knox County Advocacy Center as well as Adopt -A-Highway and "Racks on the Rails" (take a book/leave a book) at the Seminary Amtrak Station.

Yesterday, several women (and one granddaughter) took shifts and spent part of their day at Hy-Vee collecting food and monetary donations for Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center. It never ceases to amaze us at how generous our community is in helping others in need! Thank you to everyone that helped.
