Knoxville had a seat at the table! đź’™

Last week, Knoxville Community Fund's Mandy Balser represented Knoxville alongside our friends at the Galesburg Community Foundation at the Rooted & Rising Rural Forum to talk about something we believe in deeply: the power of local people investing in the places they call home.

Mandy joined Carol Shaw of the Roseville Community Fund for a panel discussion about how community funds are helping rural communities turn local generosity into real, lasting impact.

We came home inspired, energized, and even more excited about what’s possible right here in Knoxville.

Knoxville is headed to Minnesota!

Next week, Knoxville Community Fund Advisory Board Chair Mandy Balser will join Carol Shaw of the Roseville Community Fund, and our partners at Galesburg Community Foundation at the Rooted & Rising Rural Forum in Owatonna, Minnesota!

Together, we'll take part in a panel discussion about the power of community funds in rural communities - sharing how locally led funds like ours can bring people together, support the places we call home, and build resources that will benefit our communities for generations to come.
We’re excited to share a little of Knoxville’s story, learn from other rural communities doing great work across the region, and bring some new ideas home with us.

Notice anything new on your way through town?

In partnership with the City of Knoxville, the Knoxville Community Fund helped bring new welcome signs to three of the four entrances to our community.

These signs are more than just markers - they're a first impression for visitors and a source of pride for those who call Knoxville home. They reflect the kind of community we all want to live in: welcoming, vibrant, and invested in our future.

Community Fund Grants have been used to buy new handicap accessible playground equipment for James Knox Park, restock our local food pantries, support FFA projects, help fund the Community Building at the Knox County Fairgrounds, and support a Caregivers Program through the VNA - JUST TO NAME A FEW!

Teacher Mini-Grants have been used for classroom supplies, immersive classroom projects, and the acquisition of much needed resources that fall outside the budget!

It's an exciting day for the Knoxville Community Fund as our Community Grant and Teacher Mini Grant applications open today! If you or someone you know is affiliated with 501(c)(3) nonprofit or public charity, or teach in Knoxville CUSD #202, and you have a program or project that could use additional funding - please apply! The application process is easy, just visit https://www.yourgcf.org/nonprofits-and-teachers-encouraged-to-apply-for-community-fund-grants-from-march-16-april-1/
Grant recipients will be notified by May 1! We can't wait to hear your ideas about how we can improve the life of Knoxville residents.
