"The purpose of the Knox County, Illinois TRIAD is to assist the various law enforcement agencies in Knox County to reduce crime against and promote the welfare of the elderly." - TRIAD bylaws.

We are at Farm King today in Galesburg Sat Oct 24 from 11-4p. Come out and get your r***e raffle tickets. We only have a few weeks left before we draw on Wed Nov 18 at our Bi-Annual Meeting/Catered Luncheon at Dahinda United Methodist Church. Meeting is at 11…Lunch is at Noon. We will be at Farm King in Galesburg tomorrow, Sat Oct 24 from 11-4p. Come out and get your r***e raffle tickets. Quad meetings are this week. Tomorrow is Quad 4 at Henderson Twp Town Hall at 10 am. (My TRIAD President Cathy will lead this one since I have a dr appt in the am). Thursday is Quad 2 at Knox County Nursing Home at 1pm. Hope to see you there.

We wrapped up another Mini Senior Academy today with Sheriff Jack Harlan as the final speaker. Thank you Boss for coming out and talking to everyone today. 32 folks showed up for this. Sheriff spoke about life, family, faith, beliefs, career and community. All positive comments on how much they loved hearing his story and learning how he got to be where he is today. Special thanks to Tres Cafe’s Shirley Chu (and George ☺️) for the chicken and noodles lunch. You got two large empty dishes back ❤️❤️. Hawthorne Inn brought Texas Sheet cakes for us—-It was all delicious, as usual! To the VFW 2257 and Commander Bob Horton-many thanks to you, Terry, Cathy and Dianna for always accommodating our dates and times. TRIAD is so lucky to have you support us the way you do. Thank you to all who make our TRIAD endeavors a reality.

Quad meetings next week! Don’t forget.

Next stop- Wed Nov 18 Bi-Annual Meeting and Catered Luncheon at 11am in Dahinda. There’s door prizes again and our r***e winner will be drawn too!

Sheriff Harlan is our guest speaker tomorrow Thursday October 15 at 1pm at the VFW. That’s the last day for this session of our Mini Senior Academy. 😞
********** This is a free event for any age.
We usually have a pizza party the last day with Sheriff but this time, Shirley Chu with Tres Cafe is providing us with chicken and noodles for lunch and desserts will be provided by Hawthorne Inn so that will be set up before the academy starts so come hungry. Reply below or shoot me a text if you plan to attend Thurs so I can have a headcount.

What wonderful information we got today at our Senior Academy. Amber Senner and Teresa White with Gordon Behrents Senior Center spoke about what they offer to citizens. They are a hidden gem in Knox County, no doubt. Their program is an amazing opportunity for seniors and those caregivers who need a break. Be sure to check them out. Scott Erickson-Knox County Clerk and Recorder spoke about what goes on in his office. He provided us with very interesting information about his job. Thank you to our speakers for supporting TRIAD and helping to keep our seniors informed.

Don’t forget tomorrow is the Mini Senior Academy at the VFW from 1-3:30pm. Amber with Gordon Behrents speaks the first half. Then the second half is Knox County Clerk Scott Erickson. Hope you can make it out. This is a free event so bring a friend or two or three.

Last weekend for Scenic Drive in Knoxville. We will be selling gun raffle tickets Saturday and Sunday from 8-5p. We will be on W. Main St, a few booths down from the Kettle Corn booth. Come see us and help support our TRIAD Program. Hope to see you there!!
