Summer is almost here, and our first respite date is around the corner!

The SOAR program stands for Social Opportunities and Respite. This is offered to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities aged 18 and up. All staff are DSP-trained and CPR & First Aid-certified. It is a fun time for the folks involved and a nice break for parents and caregivers.

Prepayment is required to secure spots. Payment may be made in cash or by check at our Windish location or by phone at 309-344-2600.

Today marks the start of Round 2 of Thrive Community Services' 70 Days of Giving Food Drive!

As we celebrate 70 years of empowering individuals and strengthening our community, we're asking for your help once again. From June 3 through June 25, we're collecting non-perishable food items to help stock blessing boxes throughout Galesburg and support local families facing food insecurity.

At The Hub, we see every day what can happen when a community rallies around a cause. A simple donation can provide comfort, relief, and hope to someone who needs it.

Whether it's one item or a whole bag of groceries, every contribution matters.

Our 70 Days of Giving Food Drive is back in action as we continue celebrating 70 years of Thrive Community Services and 70 years of making a difference in our community!

The first collection period showed just how generous our community can be. Now it's time to build on that momentum and make this second wave even bigger.

From June 3 through June 25, we're collecting non-perishable food items at all Thrive locations:

📍 GBSC
📍 Farnham Street
📍 The Hub
📍 Abingdon

Every donation helps stock local blessing boxes and supports neighbors facing food insecurity right here in our community.

This isn't just a food drive. It's 70 years of compassion, community, and people helping people.

Let's celebrate this milestone the best way we know how; by showing up for others!

The SOAR program stands for Social Opportunities and Respite. Offered to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities aged 5 and up, the group respite program schedules two or three sessions each month. We have three sessions this month. During these times, individuals can engage with peers, participate in enjoyable activities, and develop their social skills. Dinner is provided, and the cost is $20. All staff are DSP-trained and CPR & First Aid-certified.

Because we're seeing more participation, we now require prepayment to secure spots. Payment can be cash or check at our Windish location or by calling 309-344-2600 to make a payment over the phone. Payment cut-off is the day of respite at noon.

BREAKING THRIVE NEWS:

Due to an error on a couple items via the online format - we have extended the online auction to end at NOON, Monday April 27th.

That is GREAT news - and gives even more of a chance for the community to join, search, find and BID.
