Congratulations! Great achievement for all!

We could not be more proud of our inaugural PDEV 289 class at Galena High School! These 6 seniors completed 4 amazing community service projects as part of their course in Leadership Development through Drury University under the guidance of English teacher Mr. Caleb Stokes. They completed their projects tonight by presenting to a panel of teachers, business leaders and community members! They all did a tremendous job and we are so very proud of the foundation they have established for future GHS students! Proud to be a Bear!

Youth Group at Missouri Community Betterment Conference a few weeks ago. We all had a blast. Had never seen this particular game before but looked fun. Ended up trying it at the Liberary Summer Reading Conference I went to a few days later and it is harder than it looks. wink emoticon

If you want to see Galena improvements, get on the bandwagon. We have learned from the group that came to analyze us that we (Crane Galena Reeds Spring) are considered the AUTHENTIC OZARKS. We have the river, hills and old time downtowns. People want to see this and experience our heritage. We can get economic development using what we have. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED> Come support the Galena 4th of July on the 5th. Fun and food and fireworks. What could be better!!!!

Galena Vision of Hope is changing their name......we have found the "hope" and will now be GALENA COMMUNITY VISION. This will better describe our goal of BETTERMENT for the whole community....City of Galena and also our trade area. We are a member of the Missouri Community Betterment- a state wide organization.

Galena Economic Development Workshop (Feels Like Home Tour)
PUT THIS ON YOUR CALANDER NOW:
On April 28th from 10am-4pm ten to fifteen economic development professionals will meet at the library to help our community develop tourism, a shopping facility, community center, and improve infrastructure.
There will be small workshops throughout the day with a group follow up at the end of the day. Lunch will be provided.
More information will be provided later.
This great opportunity has been provided by the Missouri Community Betterment of which Galena Vision of Hope is a Member. In order to get these professionals to visit us we submitted an application and were accepted! Your participation is greatly needed!
