Architecture Meets Myth 🏔️

Carved into majestic granite mountains amid 11,000 sq mi of desert, islands, and volcanoes, Desert Rock vanishes into the earth like ancient Nabatean hideouts. Buildings nestle in crevices, caves, and shaded slopes for cool microclimates—camouflaged by day, glowing like lanterns at night.

Site-recycled materials match the terrain's colors and minerals, with dispersed villas (54) and suites (10) minimizing footprint while sparking adventure: hikes, dune buggies, stargazing. Net-positive conservation sets a new bar for sustainable tourism—luxury that heals the land. Just 20-30 min from Red Sea International Airport, it opened Dec 2024 as Vision 2030's eco-tourism gem.

🏆 Shigeru Ban has been selected as this year’s Laureate of The American Prize for Architecture by both The Chicago Athenaeum International Museum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The formal award ceremony for what has come to be known internationally as America’s highest architecture honor took place in The Arts Club of Chicago on December 11, along with the awards' ceremony of American Architecture Awards 2025.

The Liminal House in Queens, New York (2022) dances with the iconic Whitestone Bridge, its cast-in-place concrete forms echoing the bridge's cantilevers and the East River's flow from every vantage.

Spanning nearly 10,000 sq ft (one-third underground), this waterfront residence by BLUARCH blurs boundaries between site, structure, and nature—offering a 135-degree river view and minimal furniture to emphasize open spatial expression.

Designed by Antonio Di Oronzo and Masashi Kobayashi, with photography by Oleg March, it invites dialogue between concrete permanence and fluid landscapes.
