One of the blessings of being a church family is that we share life together. The celebrations, the milestones, and sometimes the grief.

C.S. Lewis laid it out simply:

Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or he’s the Lord.

He can’t be “a good teacher” or “an interesting historical figure.” The
claims he made don’t leave room for that middle ground.

This Sunday we stay in John 8 — and things escalate fast.

The religious leaders have had enough. They start questioning Jesus’
identity, his authority, his father.

And Jesus says something that ends the conversation entirely:
“Before Abraham was — I am.”

They pick up stones.

Come ready to think about what it means that Jesus claimed to be the
eternal God — and what you do with that claim.

One thread weaves through every page of the Bible.

Genesis. Ruth. Leviticus. Jonah. Revelation.

Pull it in one place and it keeps going. Same God. Same grace. Same
Jesus.

The Jesus of John 8 is the same Jesus present at creation, present in the
wilderness, present in the waters of baptism, present in the bread and
wine.

He’s not trending. He’s not seasonal. He’s the same yesterday, today, and
forever.

Everyone’s heard: “The truth will set you free.”

But Jesus said it this way: IF you abide in my word, you’ll KNOW the truth, and THEN you’ll be free.

Abide. Know. Free. In that order.
