This year, we had the privilege of celebrating Christmas in the best way — by partnering with Mereruka Lodge #6, King of Kings Lodge #5; and Mosaic Women of Love and Faith, Order of the Eastern Star #12. and Constable Precinct 2, Jerry Garcia.

Together, we honored over 60 kids from different schools in the South Side of GPISD. Seeing the happiness on their faces was the greatest Christmas present we could ever receive.

Chili, Rotary fun, and the GP/JC community came together on Tuesday, Oct 21st, to raise scholarship money for Galena Park High School graduates. The new location at 1st Baptist Church of Jacinto City worked really well. Thanks to Rotary Club President James Cline's leadership over $15,000 was raised! Our sincere appreciation to Chefs Charles, Martinez, and Flores and the Culinary students at GPHS, and chili cookers William Slaid, JP Slaid, and E. Cano! Please make plans to join us Tuesday, August 19, at noon, at the Jacinto City TownCenter. We will be hearing about Rise Against Hunger and how we can help as a Rotary Club. Lunch will be served. Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations and here in the US. Rise Against Hunger mobilizes more than 400,000 volunteers each year to package meals for people in need around the globe. Come join us as we look at this new-to-us program.
