Patuxent River - MD Chapter of The Links, Incorporated The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is a group of distinguished women linked in friendship and connected in service.

The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter is a group of distinguished women, diverse in age and background, who share a common desire to effectively serve our community. The members are accomplished women who are leaders in their respective career fields of law, business, medicine, education, and health. Our main focus is to serve our community while fostering collaboration with local leaders and businesses

who share the same goal of building a strong foundation for young girls to develop into leaders of the future. On Thursday, May 21, the Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, was the recipient of the 2026 MCCH Celebrating Home Award. We are honored to be recognized by Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, an organization whose mission reflects compassion, dignity, and hope in action. For the past eight years, our partnership has been rooted in a shared belief — that every individual and every family deserves not only housing, but opportunity, stability, and community.

Thank you to MCCH and its Board of Directors, for allowing us to be part of this meaningful journey. We look forward to continuing our partnership and working together to create pathways that lead not only out of homelessness, but toward hope, empowerment, and lasting change.

🇬🇭 Transformation in Ghana: The 2026 Mission Trip 🇬🇭
The Patuxent River (MD) Links are back from an incredible mission to Ghana, and our hearts are full! Through our International Trends and Services facet, we’ve spent the last 11 years growing alongside the Twedaase Primary School in Tema.

As this historic school prepares for its 70th anniversary, we are honored to help build its future. Here’s a look at what we accomplished together this April:

💧 Clean Water & Critical Infrastructure
We officially dedicated a new water borehole, ensuring the school has a sustainable source of clean water. We also raised the roof—literally! New roofing, renovated restrooms for students and teachers, and vital infrastructure repairs were completed to provide a safe, dignified learning environment.

📚 Advancing the Curriculum
Education is about more than just buildings; it’s about the bright minds inside them. Our team led hands-on student workshops focused on:
*The Power of Clean Water: Understanding health and hygiene.
*Healthy Hearts: Promoting lifelong wellness.
*Reading Comprehension: Igniting a passion for literacy.

💻 Tools for Tomorrow
To bridge the digital divide, we donated new laptops for the IT lab and 300 books for the school library. We also expanded our impact to the broader Kumasi community, providing audiology screenings and life-changing hearing aids to those in need.

🏫 By the Numbers:
*600 Students (280 boys, 320 girls) served daily.
*11 Years of dedicated partnership.
*Infinite Potential unlocked through global connection.

The work isn't over! Patuxent River MD President, Dr. Cheryl Simmons Gray stated "This mission reminds us that service knows no borders. In Ghana, we are not just building infrastructure—we are nurturing hope, dignity, and opportunity for generations to come." Our mission continues as we look to provide new furniture, sports equipment, expanded IT and wifi support and green play spaces for these amazing scholars.

Together, we aren't just crossing miles; we’re building a legacy of sustainable change. 🌍✨

Members of the Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated recently joined 12 other chapters for “Maryland Links Legislative Advocacy Day in Annapolis.”

This powerful day at the Maryland State House gave us the opportunity to connect directly with members who also serve in the Maryland General Assembly — including Delegates Edith Patterson, Pamela Queen, Kym Taylor, Karen Toles, and Jennifer White Holland. We heard firsthand about their legislative priorities and shared several issues that matter most to our chapters and the communities we serve.

We were especially honored to take a group photo with Governor Wes Moore and First Lady Dawn Moore. The excitement continued as we were formally introduced during Maryland House and Senate Convening, where a Resolution was unanimously passed recognizing Maryland Links chapters for “your unwavering commitment to women's health and public safety which positively impacts our communities and strengthens our State.”

Advocacy in action. Sisterhood in service. Impact across Maryland.
