As we begin 2026, we would like to recognize the many community partners who serve our neighbors in need. Please accept our thanks for the work you do and good wishes for a happy and healthy new year.
Gaithersburg Meals-on-Wheels, Inc. (G’Burg MoW) had a busy 2025 as our program moved from Asbury Methodist Village to the Benjamin Gaither Center – necessitating a new catering company and new phone number. Our mission remains the same. We bring kindness, concern, and nutritious food into the homes of isolated and vulnerable adults.
G’Burg MoW is an all-volunteer program with no paid staff. Prepared meals are delivered by volunteers to adults who can maintain themselves in their own residence, but because of a handicap, convalescence, or the infirmities of age, they are unable to shop for groceries and prepare meals on their own. Meals are provided based entirely on need, without regard to a person’s s*x, age, race, nationality or creed. Meals are free to qualified applicants but we do accept donations.
Our services include:
Home delivery of 2 meals (hot and cold), 5 days a week, delivered at lunchtime
A friendly contact which serves as a “well check”
Meals meet the American Diabetes Association nutritional guidelines; are low sugar, low fat, low cholesterol, and low sodium.
Clients are interviewed by our Intake Coordinator before service can start. The client must be able to eat the food we provide (there are no alternative food choices) and the residence must allow safe access for our drivers to park and deliver the meals. Recipients are expected to maintain their own food for weekends, holidays and snow days.

We are reaching out to community partners because we have recently whittled down our waitlist and find that we can accommodate additional referrals. If you know of someone who could benefit from home-delivered, nutritious meals, please let us know. Call us at 301-371-2770 with referrals or inquiries to leave a message. Your call will be returned by a volunteer as soon we are able – usually within 2 business days.
