Hi Everyone,

Our club meeting on March 12th has been moved to the Heritage Building at the Montgomery Co fairgrounds at 7:00 PM.

Activity: “Mini” activity (Lori will bring the minis for Parts of the horse identification)

Demos: Cora, Samantha, & Grace

Snacks & Drinks: Marie will bring the extras from the last meeting.

On Saturday, March 14th, the Horse Bowl Contest will take place at the University of Maryland and will run all day. Parents – Let me know if you have any questions.

Horse Judging & Hippology Contest: June 13, 2025, at the Howard Co Fairgrounds



Ashley Champagne is a Rockville-based master's student conducting a thesis project that examines horse health, deworming programs and trail riding use.

She is currently recruiting riders who have ridden on Montgomery County trails to take part in a brief 10–15-minute anonymous online survey about their riding history and horses' medical history (if known). Students are welcome to participate with help from their parents! If you have any questions, you can email her at [email protected]

Hey Everyone!! The club meeting for tonight at 7pm at the fairgrounds will NOT be held in building 6. It will be held in the Heritage building/ dining hall.
Use the Chestnut Street Entrance and drive straight past the office on your right. Park on either side of the road near the The Heritage building.

A great time was had by all at the 4H Horse-N-Around Holiday party! We elected officers for 2026, did a fun craft of painting ornaments and then enjoyed pot luck snacks and goodies and the kids played games! Our next meeting will be held on January 8th at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Building 6 at 7pm.

September 4-H Meeting

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a fantastic fair week and that the transition back to school has gone smoothly for your families!

Our next 4-H meeting:

· Date: September 11th

· Time: 7:00 PM

· Location: Building 6/Demo Room, Montgomery County Fairgrounds

Marie and I will be providing pizza for everyone to enjoy. We would appreciate it if one or two families could volunteer to bring drinks for the group.

Lela and Lailah have prepared a special fair slide show for us, which we’ll watch together while having pizza.

During our meeting, Hannah will update us on her diamond level 6 project. Please also save the date: on September 27th, we’ll be volunteering at Days End Horse Rescue.

Looking ahead, start thinking about joining the Horse Bowl Teams this year! Practices will be held on Tuesdays, beginning October 21st. The contest date is yet to be announced, but it usually takes place on a saturday in early March.

Finally, we’re excited to introduce our new members who have just moved up from our Clover Club.

First Fair work day in the books! The sheds garden beds were a MESS! They got a huge makeover! Plans for upgrades to the wash stalls are in the works to add some flashing to keep water from getting into the stalls. Fans are up, ring is cleaed up and bushes trimmed! We even had two fair princess help out! 😉. Thank you to all the friends and family that came out and sweated with us!

Our first work day is tomorrow!!

Just a few reminders ....

1. Saturday is our first work day!! We will meet at the Horse Barn. (9:00am)

2. The fair quality assurance class is at 8:30 a.m. till 9:00 in the Heritage Hall. Doors will be locked at 8:30 & no late comers will be allowed in.

3. Bring gardening tools (label your tools) We have lots of weeds to pull & bushes to trim.

4. Bring health papers for your 4-Her with a current picture. Form is attached

5. Bring a copy of your horse's coggins (if you are bringing a horse to fair)

6. Sunday is the deadline to register for fair.
