More Bracelets to sell at the Horse Shoe booth made ✅️
Next week-Fence Paint touch ups, Cleaning painting wagon, Getting out jumps(?), Mulching flowers and grandstand area, pulling weeds in arena, Cutting bushes back at the end of the arena/ tree trimming as needed.

Hi Everyone!!!

Our first workday is this Saturday July 25th 9-12.

Reminders:

· The mandatory fair meeting at 8:30am in the Heritage Hall, every 4Her and a parent must attend one meeting. This meeting is held every workday.

Doors close at 8:30.

· Sign-in and out at the computer station near the office or dining hall.

· Sign-in at the barn

· Turn-in your health form w/ a picture.

· Bring a copy of your horse’s coggins & VCRP forms (if you are bring a horse)

The shavings have arrived early!!! So, this workday we will need to move things out of the stalls, hang fans and fill the stalls with shavings.

Bring snow shovels, coal type shovels, wheelbarrows and/or gorilla carts if you have them.

Our next Horse N Around Club meeting is Thursday, July 9th at 7:00 PM. We will be meeting in Building 6 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Activity – Lily will be leading us in a painting activity.

Hi Everyone,

Our next Horse N Around Club meeting is Thursday, June 11 at 7:00 PM. We will be meeting in Building 6 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Reminders:

· Please bring in your beads you would like to share (like pony beads, clay beads, rubber bands, letter beads, string, fun charms etc.)! We will also have supplies on hand, so don’t worry if you can’t bring any. [hint, hint: there is also a bracelet category so you could enter a bracelet as an indoor entry!] Please email Hannah or Lori if you have any questions! Also please put your name on any supplies you would like returned.

· AH & QA is due July 31. If this is your first year or you moved up to the next age group, you are required to complete this program.

· Catalogs are here!! I will bring some to the meeting.

Hi Everyone,

Our club meeting on March 12th has been moved to the Heritage Building at the Montgomery Co fairgrounds at 7:00 PM.

Activity: “Mini” activity (Lori will bring the minis for Parts of the horse identification)

Demos: Cora, Samantha, & Grace

Snacks & Drinks: Marie will bring the extras from the last meeting.

On Saturday, March 14th, the Horse Bowl Contest will take place at the University of Maryland and will run all day. Parents – Let me know if you have any questions.

Communications Contest: April 18, 2025, In-Person at the MD State Office

Horse Judging & Hippology Contest: June 13, 2025, at the Howard Co Fairgrounds

Ashley Champagne is a Rockville-based master's student conducting a thesis project that examines horse health, deworming programs and trail riding use.

She is currently recruiting riders who have ridden on Montgomery County trails to take part in a brief 10–15-minute anonymous online survey about their riding history and horses' medical history (if known). Students are welcome to participate with help from their parents! If you have any questions, you can email her at [email protected]

Hey Everyone!! The club meeting for tonight at 7pm at the fairgrounds will NOT be held in building 6. It will be held in the Heritage building/ dining hall.
Use the Chestnut Street Entrance and drive straight past the office on your right. Park on either side of the road near the The Heritage building.

A great time was had by all at the 4H Horse-N-Around Holiday party! We elected officers for 2026, did a fun craft of painting ornaments and then enjoyed pot luck snacks and goodies and the kids played games! Our next meeting will be held on January 8th at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds Building 6 at 7pm.
