After another successful season of entertaining and thought-provoking movies, Kentlands Film Society is now selling subscriptions for the 2026-27 season. The price for the 5-film series is $50 per person. All films will be shown at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn. Doors open at 6:15 PM and films start at 7:00 PM.

Join the Kentlands Mah Jongg Club! The Club is a welcoming group for Mah Jongg players of all skill levels. Offering regular games and opportunities to learn and improve, the Club fosters camaraderie and connection through a shared love of this classic game in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

The club meets Thursdays from 1—4 PM at the Kentlans Carriage House. We welcome all experienced players who share a love of the game, but currently, the group is best suited for those with prior experience with American Mah Jongg.

Maiden, the final film of the Kentland’s Film Society’s 2025-2026 season, will be shown this Sunday, May 17th, at the Arts Barn at 7:00 PM.

In 1989 Tracy Edwards led the first all-female crew in the Whitbread Round the World Race, a grueling yachting competition that covers 33,000 miles and lasts nine months. Maiden pays powerful tribute to a true pioneer.

The Go Green Group and Kentlands Green Team were awarded a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust to install a Native Plant/Storm Water Garden on KCA property behind the carriage house adjacent to the Arts Barn & DPZ offices.

On Monday, volunteers filled the garden with Maryland native plant species to create an inviting space and educational garden that also manages storm water in our walkable community. In the coming months, quarterly speakers will teach visitors how to plant similar gardens at their own homes.

We hope you’ll stop by and check out the garden when you’re out strolling the neighborhood!
