In 1967, Savant was created as the female alternative to the all-male Florida Blue Key. When it integrated a short time later to include male members, it became one of the first University of Florida organizations to do so. In response to Savant's inclusive actions, it was titled UF's Most Progressive Leadership Honorary. Today, Savant Leadership Honorary is one of the highest caliber leadership o
rganizations on campus. An organization of prestige, it strives to uphold the values of strong character and diversity. Savant honors students who display outstanding leadership experience, a firm belief in community service, and commitment to ethical behavior. Savant's members work to emphasize the importance of fostering growth and pride in both the University of Florida campus and the Gainesville community as a whole. Primarily, Savant acts as a leadership network. Members are given a space to interact with other like minded individuals and support one another’s endeavors. In addition to members’ campus roles prior to Savant, there are numerous opportunities to gain experience and involvement through Savant’s elected and appointed positions, community initiatives, and internal committees. Savant Leadership Honorary strives to set a high, yet attainable standard for leadership on the UF campus, based upon a desire for service and self improvement.
