Alachua County Library Bookmobile: The library is coming to you on Thursday, August 20th 4pm - 6pm! Bonus for parents with children under 18 in the home: Be one of the first ten to sign in and you’ll be entered into a family-fun random choice drawing!

Afterschool Programs: The Strong Kids Afterschool & Enrichment Program is dedicated to supporting 1st – 5th grade students. Junior Council is a youth-led initiative that empowers local teens in grades 6th –12th. These FREE programs provide safe and engaging learning opportunities over the academic year.
To register a child, parents must stop by in-person to pick up an application and meet with staff. Space is limited with special priority for families in the SWAG neighborhoods.

To***co Quit Groups: AHEC will be onsite every Monday in August from 3pm - 4pm to host Group Quit led by a trained specialist. For more information, call 1(866)341-2730.

Help Me Grow Outreach: Partnership for Strong Families is excited to introduce the Help Me Grow program, supporting early childhood development and connecting families to helpful local resources. Stop by to meet the team at this month's Thrive Night on August 20th 5pm - 6:30pm.

Today we had a double celebration for our neighborhood kids and families with our annual Back to School Bash! One event happened at the SWAG Family Resource Center while the other happened at Majestic Oaks. Both had food, music, fun, and resources for our kids and families. It was a great day to help prepare our kids for a successful school year. Many thanks to the participants and partners that helped in both places! Grace at Fort Clarke Church, Tower Hill Insurance, Better Together, CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, HOPE, Alachua County Sheriff, DJ Rodney Mosley, Children's Trust of Alachua County, Campusview Church, The River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding and the PACT team, Kim Barton Supervisor of Elections, DJ Eric Elo Lopez, Alachua County Library District’s bookmobile, and all of the wonderful educators from Hidden Oak, Chiles, Fort Clarke, Kanapaha, and F.W. Buchholz High School - we couldn’t do it without you!

Join us for a Police-Youth Dialogue. All teens and their parents are invited to this Thursday, July 30th from 3pm–5pm for a powerful and meaningful conversation hosted by the River Phoenix Center for Peace Building.

Space will be limited for this event. The first 10 parents to sign in AND complete a family survey at the end of the event will be entered into a random drawing for a special incentive! Dinner will be provided for families who attend.

Today our partners at The River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding and Impact GNV hosted a fantastic violence prevention and summer fun event at Majestic Oaks. Building strong, happy, safe communities is what we are all about! Many thanks to the PACT (Peace Action Community Team) leaders for organizing this event and for all the work you do in your neighborhood! 💙🧡
