Photos from Archer, Florida community historic preservation meetings on area baseball teams. Awesome discussions on team formations, family, and church ties were interwoven with talk on community pride in the team’s success and the historic relevance to Negro League Baseball, mentoring, leadership, and community building. More to come! Thanks to the players for sharing their memories, and to historian Lizzie Robinson Jenkins and Archer City Commissioner Joni White for inspiring local interest! SPOHP cast members, Deborah, Charity, & I made a great research team and plan to return to Archer for individual interviews soon!
