Join us July 11th at The Ox for a benefit show supporting Operation Catnip, Gainesville’s local nonprofit dedicated to protecting and caring for our community cats!

Operation Catnip provides free spay/neuter surgeries, medical treatment, and supports TNR efforts, which helps reduce suffering and overpopulation while giving feral cats a chance at healthier lives.

100% of proceeds go straight to Operation Catnip, come dance, donate, and help care for Gainesville’s beautiful cats!

Come out for Gainesville Animal Defender's first ever film screening!!

The documentary "The Animal People" follows the Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) campaign with archival footage, activist interviews spanning over a decade, and undercover FBI surveillance tapes.

This pressure campaign was unprecedented in terms of its economic damage and sabotage. Unfortunately, due to political repression, the campaign ended when the leaders were arrested on bu****it charges for laws that were made to suppress the movement.

We wanted to welcome all of our wonderful Summer 2025 Fellows from all over North America! 🙀🙀

They will be spending the next 10 weeks immersed in all things Humane Community Cat Management!✨🐾

We are so excited for the opportunity to teach Trap-Neuter-Return, Cat Transporting, High-Quality-High-Volume Spay/Neuter Procedures, Fundraising Strategies, Behind-The-Scenes of Animal Welfare, and about all of the wonderful programs we offer for Community Cats and Kittens at Operation Catnip! 😻✨

It is always a beautiful thing to watch our Fellows gain knowledge and skills during the Summer spent at Operation Catnip, so please stay tuned for updates throughout the next 10 weeks!👀🥰
