This past weekend, we held a community event in Trenton where we partnered with several community partners. Through this event, 11 individuals received mammograms, 18 received health screenings, 18 community ID’s were produced, 8 Power of Attorney documents, and 1 flu shot. Individuals also received health education on breast health awareness and heat-related illness. Thank you to all the partners for making this possible! We spent some time this week in Washington D.C. as part of a larger group of 80+ disaster survivors from 10 states and Puerto Rico advocating on behalf of our communities in Florida. We are honored to bring our local stories to a national platform to improve federal disaster response!

Since January, RWHP has been collecting donations for the Immigrant Safety Fund as well as essential items, such as food and diapers, for families experiencing family separation. In the last few weeks, we have worked with our partners to provide mammography services, health screenings, and power of attorney to community members in Live Oak and Ocala. Through these events, we were able to provide 18 mammograms, 40 health screenings, and 7 powers of attorney. Thank you to all the partners who made it possible to serve our communities in these areas! noe_salud, University of Florida Health Cancer Institute, Ventanilla de Salud, RCMA, The Ocala Farm Ministry, and St Francis Xavier Catholic Church. 🩺
