Second Chance Rescue & Rehoming, Inc We give critters slated to be euthanized a second chance to find their forever home. The phrase "Second Chance" about says it all.

All of our dogs reside in volunteer foster homes and we hold weekly adoption events on Saturday's at Earth Pets in Gainesville, Florida. Our adoptable animals come to us from our local animal shelter, Alachua County Animal Services, and each of them were slated to be euthanized for one reason or another. We reserve space in our program for animals that are from our county shelter and would not have a chance for adoption if we did take them in so we are not able to take in pets from the public at this time. We have VERY limited space and unfortunately, there are enough "owner-less" critters out there to keep us quite busy! Most of the animals that come to us are healthy and happy from the start, but some require medical and/or surgical attention before they are healthy enough to go up for adoption. All of our animals reside in volunteer foster homes so we are able to learn a lot about their individual personalities, likes and dislikes and are able to make a great match with potential adopters.. We hold adoption events at Earth Pets Natural Market off of Newberry Rd every Saturday from 12-3 pm and we invite potential adopters to stop by to meet and interact with our adoptable animals. Our adoption fee includes them being spayed or neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, current with heartworm and flea prevention and micro-chipped. We also strive to promote responsible pet ownership through education and example. Anyone interested in adopting a new pet from Second Chance will be asked to complete an application. This allows us to better ensure that the animal of interest is exactly what you're looking for, and vice versa. There are no "right or wrong" answers ... our goal is solely to ensure that everyone ends up happy. We thank you in advance for your time.

We are so happy to share that sweet momma Annie (now Bingo ❤️) has been adopted! We absolutely love repeat adopters and this amazing family, who previously adopted from us, came to us again when they were ready to add a new friend to their family.
Bingo is loving all of the love and attention plus having a wonderful dog friend, Boone , to share daily walks with.

We are in need of new or gently used stuffed toys. Our recent litter of puppies depleted our stash of toys and we'd love to restock!

Last month’s $1,000 donation recipient is Second Chance Rescue & Rehoming, Inc.! 🐾💙

Second Chance Rescue & Rehoming gives local animals another opportunity at a loving home by taking in adoptable animals from Alachua County Animal Services that were at risk of euthanasia and may not have had another chance for adoption.

Through a network of volunteer foster homes, Second Chance gets to know each animal’s personality, likes, and needs, helping them find the best possible match with their future family. Some animals also receive the medical or surgical care they need before they’re ready for adoption.

Second Chance also promotes responsible pet ownership through education and example, helping create happier, healthier homes for pets and their families. We’re proud to support their mission of giving local animals the second chance they deserve!
