There’s something about caregiving that people don’t want to talk about.

But let’s say it:

**Family caregivers should be compensated.**

Here’s the truth…

Caregivers are doing the work of nurses.
CNAs.
Advocates.
Care coordinators.
Case managers.
Sometimes even the role of a doctor.

And every single one of those professionals gets paid.

But the moment it’s a family member?

Now it’s…
“Well, if you really love them, you wouldn’t expect to be paid.”

That doesn’t make sense.

Caregivers are losing jobs.
Draining savings.
Trying to keep the lights on while providing 24-hour care.

And somehow… we’re expected to do it without support?

We need to talk about this.

Not quietly. Not behind closed doors.
Out loud. In our communities. In policy conversations. Everywhere.

Because this isn’t just about money.
It’s about sustainability.
It’s about dignity.
It’s about making sure families can survive while they care for the people they love.
