Another successful session! Today during Ms. Alison’s session, our client showed initial signs of frustration as soon as she saw the math worksheet. Recognizing the early cues, Ms. Alison immediately removed the triggering worksheet and replaced it with alternative materials that targeted the same skill in a different, more engaging format. The activity was presented playfully to reduce pressure and support emotional regulation.
After approximately 12 minutes of success and positive engagement, Ms. Alison reintroduced the original worksheet. The client completed two problems independently, demonstrating confidence and reduced frustration. Ms. Alison then encouraged her to “teach Mom” how to solve the problems. As the client explained her process step-by-step, Ms. Alison listened carefully to observe her natural learning style, processing patterns, and how she communicates her understanding.

This approach allowed the client to regain control, feel competent, and successfully revisit a task that had previously caused emotional distress. ♥️♥️
