Marking 34 years of history since 1993, AASU continues to pioneer Asian American advocacy, connection, and growth across campus. As we kick off a new academic year, our board is committed to honoring those who came before us while building a bolder, more inclusive future for everyone who walks through our doors.

What is AASU? At the University of Florida, the Asian American Student Union is an Asian-interest, non-exclusive student-led organization focused on culture, advocacy, and community building. Established in 1993, AASU is open to all students looking to connect and learn.

Our foundation rests on five core pillars: Advocacy, Awareness, Community, Empowerment & Education.

As summer comes to a close, we hope you’ve had the chance to relax, recharge, and make the most of your break. 🌊🍉

Move-in and the first day of classes are just around the corner, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to campus! 🏡📖 Be sure to keep an eye out for AASA and all of AASU’s upcoming events, where you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet new people, reconnect with friends, and kick off the semester together. 🎉✨

AASU 2026–2027 ADVOCACY CHAIR APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN + VPE HARD LAUNCH ‼️

Started this year, AASU’s Department of Advocacy has already made a meaningful impact within our community, with initiatives like the Advocacy Committee on Unity (ACU) leading efforts to foster dialogue, connection, and understanding.

As Advocacy Chair, you will have the opportunity to lead and expand these initiatives, working on meaningful advocacy projects alongside students of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, organizational affiliations, and backgrounds. This role offers hands-on leadership experience and the chance to collaborate with organizations such as APIAVote and FLAAP.

Join the union this year, and help us make an even bigger impact!
