FSTM was founded in 1993 and accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council in 2000. FSTM is proud that 100% of our graduates from the past six years have passed the North American Registry of Midwives certifying exam and have become Florida Licensed Midwives and/or Certified Professional Midwives. We strive to honor the challenges inherent with the transition of a woman, in any stag

e of life, into midwife, recognizing that this transition is somehow linked to the transition a woman experiences in birth from woman to mother. We midwife the midwives, believing that the journey each student undertakes is a "labor" resulting in the birth of herself.
