Moriah enjoyed the dancing, the beauty and so many hugs with former UF scientists like Varsha Sundaresan Kartika Venugopal Mam Mboge that now live in Boston. And as always, Tony Meacham is my favorite travel and dance partner.

We started Xtraordinary JOY when our daughter was diagnosed with something called Xq27Xq28 Deletion. We didn't know what that meant for her. There was no research, no guidebook, no community, no knowledge of life expectancy and possible medical conditions. We searched for answers and others on this journey. 11 years later and there are less than 80 families worldwide connected by this diagnosis. The X chromosome is packed full of very important genes. Our daughter is missing 76 genes in this region, 7.3 Million bases of DNA, and has numerous other diagnoses due to the deletion. We try to help families understand this complex disorder and know they are not alone.
