This is an update for the GoFundMe campaign for our area VP, Josh Saslovesky. We are now at $13,263!!!! Many thanks to all that have donated.

Please consider a donation to help Josh help his wife Cori. This is the link to get to the campaign page https://gofund.me/780c9d4bb

Below is the info on the campaign page:
To our union brothers and sisters, we are reaching out to ask for your support for one of our own during an incredibly difficult time. Our brother, Josh Saslovsky—Past President, South Area Vice President, and Partnership Representative of CWA Local 3105—and his family are facing a life-changing medical crisis.

On October 31, 2025, Josh’s wife, Cori Saslovsky, suffered a devastating brain aneurysm and was rushed into emergency surgery. Since then, she has undergone multiple brain surgeries as doctors fought to save her life. After many long days filled with uncertainty, prayer, and hope, we are grateful to share that Cori has stabilized.

While this is a tremendous blessing, her recovery journey is just beginning. Cori now faces months of rehabilitation and ongoing medical care. The family will also need to modify their home and retrofit their vehicle to accommodate her needs as she continues healing. During this time, Josh and his family will be focused on supporting Cori every step of the way.

As union members, we understand what solidarity truly means—standing together when one of our own needs help. Medical emergencies like this bring not only emotional hardship but also significant financial strain from medical bills, rehabilitation costs, home and vehicle modifications, and time away from work. We ask our union family to come together to support Josh, Cori, and their loved ones during this challenging time.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the burden and allow Josh to focus on what matters most—being there for Cori as she continues her recovery. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Cori and the Saslovsky family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for showing the strength, solidarity, and compassion that make our union family so strong. When one of us struggles, we stand together.

We are sad to share the passing of one of our retirees, Rick Eddie. He was a steadfast and dedicated Union member, serving as a Steward and Vice-President of our Local. Listed below are three charities that he supported, if anyone would like to donate.

Below is his Obituary:

Mr. Richard Ivan Eddie, Jr., age 75, passed away on December 31, 2025, in Gainesville, Fl. Rick was born in Uniontown, PA to Richard I. Eddie, Sr., and Ellen M. Eddie on December 28, 1950.

Upon graduating from St. John Catholic High School in 1969 he began working for the Bell System, following in his father's footsteps. Rick enjoyed a 43-year career in communications with Southern Bell, BellSouth and AT&T. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a proud member of the CWA where he served in many roles including Vice President and as a Union Steward in his Local. Rick also served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Taiwan from 1970 to 1973. He continued his dedication to serving his country for another 10 years in the Reserves.

Rick was a devoted member of St. Patrick Church. He served on the parish council, was an usher, a Eucharistic minister, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he held the title of Grand Knight of Council #6108, he was also member of the 4th Degree Assembly. Rick loved to cook and was the chief chef and bottle washer at St. Patrick's Church and school. He always looked forward to planning and cooking for church events, and he very much enjoyed teaching his craft to others.
Rick had a deep love for all things Pennsylvania. He cheered for the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and of course, the Penn State Nittany Lions. He also looked forward to his annual trips back to Uniontown for his Class Reunion and loved reconnecting with old friends. He supported the Democratic Party and the Democratic Women's Club. A resident of Gainesville for 47 years, he was a vibrant presence in his community and family, truly walking in the footsteps of Jesus.

He is survived by his mother, Ellen M. Eddie, his brother, Mike; his wife, Sheryl Eddie; his daughters Shannon Hernandez and Trish Eddie; his chosen daughters Danielle Sellars (Aaron), Emily Wolf and Sarah Wolf; his grandchildren, Noah, Lucas, Allie, James and Natalie. It's so hard to loose a parent, but to loose both parents just three weeks apart, it's hard to even understand the loss. Shawn's Dad passed away on February 7.

We are deeply sorry Shawn, sending prayers for you and your family.

Our officers, standing strong!

As residents observe Labor Day members of Communications Workers of America are still on strike across the southeast for unfair labor practices.

Dear AT&T
Since day one of bargaining, CWA has sent our A Team to the table. Don't you think it is time you did the same? The purpose of bargaining is to talk, and be mutually engaged in the conversation; CWA is talking why won't you?

Our members are committed and working hard for a fair and strong contract. If you are able, please stop by and say hello at any of the picket lines in the District, let them know you support them, grab a picket sigh and walk with them for a few minutes, it will mean the world!!!

Please sign this petition, that is simply asking AT&T to bargain in good faith with CWA. The bargaining team has been working hard since June, and it seems like AT&T is just trying to wear down CWA to just settle...............as the petition says, AT&T made 16 BILLION in profits in 2023, it's only fair to help the employees that is helping the company be so successful, some of that profit should be shared with the employees!

anyone can sign, not just members.

Thanks!

edit to correct link to petition

PS: the retired employees have not received a pension raise (for the ones that took pensions) since 2008 - AT&T takes full advantage of the law that says retirees are not considered part of the bargaining process. They could if they wanted to but they don't.....
