Established in 1987 to serve the counties of Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette, and Levy, in North Central Florida. BMFB functions by acquiring, storing, and distributing food and basic essentials via the support of 170+ agency partners and over 500 community volunteers. We work to lead our community in the fight against hunger by increasing access to sufficient and nutritious food.

Our agency partners make it possible! 🧡

We were honored to host over 100 representatives from our agency partners at our annual conference on August 8th. These dedicated men and women represented agencies from all four counties in our service area.

Our breakout groups included both informational and relational networking opportunities between agencies and the sharing of information on resources and needs.

It's just one way we're all working together to fight food insecurity in our area.

A huge thank you to the fantastic team from CPAmerica who spent a recent afternoon with us at Bread of the Mighty!

This awesome crew spent their warehouse shift sorting through essential supplies, including fresh bread, pastries, and potatoes.

Their hard work directly helped us feed 1,156 of our local neighbors! 🧡🥔🍞

Did you know that a big part of how we operate efficiently is through back hauling?

When our trucks deliver food out into the community, they don’t come back empty. They stop at stores and farms on their return trip, picking up donations and bringing them straight to our warehouse.

That means if you see one of our trucks on the road, we guarantee it’s filled with food.

It’s one of the ways we make every mile, and every pound, go further.

A huge thank you to the incredible team from Campbell Spellicy Engineering Inc. for spending a recent shift with us! 🛠️✨

They put their time and engineering brains to work sorting and packing pantry boxes for our community. Thanks to their hard work and efficiency, this team helped feed an amazing 7,667 neighbors in need! 🧡
