The Mystery of Cinderella’s Missing Slipper Continues! Who knew dirt could be so interesting?
This week in our Forensic Science class, our young investigators explored soil evidence to help uncover where the soil found on "Cinderella’s" shoe might have come from! Students examined different soil samples, compared their characteristics, and learned how forensic scientists use soil to connect evidence to possible locations. We even took a closer look under the microscope and discovered some tiny living creatures hiding in the soil! Talk about an exciting discovery! I love watching the kids get curious, ask questions, make observations, and discover things for themselves. Learning is so much more exciting when you get to experience it firsthand! ❤️ Another fun, messy, hands-on day of science at Home With Dee!

Just because they’re teenagers doesn’t mean they’re too old to be kids! ❤️
Our teens work hard in class, challenge themselves, and learn new things, but there’s always room for laughter, fun, and just being silly! Sometimes we forget that even though they’re getting older, they still need time to play, laugh, explore, and simply enjoy being kids.
Learning doesn't always have to be serious. These are the moments that make our homeschool days special! 💕

A glimpse into what a typical Tuesday looks like!
Our Jr. Forensics students dove into chromatography and solved which suspect’s ink matched the evidence.
In Geography Through Art, we wrapped up Egyptian cartouches, explored South Africa, and tasted a traditional South African pancake. It was a hit! These classes are full of learning, creativity, and never a dull moment.

Still exploring the continent of Africa! 🌍
This week we dove into ancient AND modern Egypt. Our art piece is a cartouche — the kids learned how to mold, and carve their names in hieroglyphics! Next week we will finish it up by painting it and learning about another country in Africa while enjoying a delicious cuisine. There is always an adventure at Dee’s!

Today was perfect for outside lessons, good conversations, and building friendships. Love these kids!

Here students learned about the different types and forms of fingerprints. They made their own prints and practiced lifting them from various surfaces. We then returned to our crime scene investigation to determine whose fingerprints were on the slipper.
