Our mission has always been centered around fostering stronger communities through initiatives that uplift and make a positive impact on the lives of individuals.

🤝 A Helping Hand for Our Elderly Neighbor 🌼
Recently, our team had the privilege of extending a helping hand to a lovely elderly woman in our community. Her home, filled with memories and history, needed tender loving care. We are proud to say that through our homeownership and community development initiatives, we were able to make a significant difference.

🧹 Clean-Up Services: Our dedicated team of volunteers spent hours meticulously cleaning and organizing her living space. We believe a clean and comfortable home is the foundation of a healthy and happy life.

🌳 Yard Maintenance: A home's exterior is just as important as the interior. Our team took care of the outdoor space, ensuring a well-maintained yard that she could enjoy year-round.

🎨 Painting: A fresh coat of paint can transform a house, not just aesthetically but also emotionally. Our volunteers worked together to give her home a vibrant and welcoming new look.

🆓 Providing Assistance Free of Charge: We are thrilled to share that all these services were provided completely free of charge. It is our firm belief that everyone deserves to live in a safe and comfortable environment, and financial constraints should never be a barrier to achieving that.

The Edvin Bryce Dix Community Development Corp is thrilled to announce that we are awarding a $500 scholarship to an outstanding young scholar, Gaelle Valmir.

Gaelle is a true inspiration and a shining example of dedication and community involvement. As a high school senior, she's not only taking rigorous courses in subjects like Chemistry and Physics at Miami Dade College through dual enrollment, but she's also making a lasting impact in her community.

Gaelle's commitment to cultural preservation is remarkable, as she dedicates her time to create beautiful cultural preservation quilts.

In addition, she generously shares her knowledge by tutoring fellow students.

What's even more impressive is her passion for coding. Gaelle is on a quest to increase her knowledge in this field and has already participated in coding boot camps like Kode with Klossy and Girls Who Code. Her dream is to become a web developer and use her skills to create websites for organizations addressing food insecurity and education inequality.

Gaelle's dedication doesn't stop there. She has already developed websites for mock clients and even created an app focused on financial education.

This scholarship is especially meaningful because Gaelle's family faces financial challenges as low-income immigrants from Haiti. Her dream is to attend college without accumulating any debt, and we believe her dedication and talent will take her far in achieving this goal.
