*Election Day is Tuesday, August 18. Check out our endorsement post!

*Book Club is meeting at the Lynx on September 4th at 5 p.m.We're currently reading Streetfight: Handbook for an Urban Revolution by Janette Sadik-Khan and Seth Solomonow.

*Downtown Arts Festival is November 14th and 15th. If you have some time between 10 am and 5 pm, sign up to volunteer and table with us to continue spreading the good word about housing.

We are co-hosting a candidate forum, and we want to see you there. Here's why your presence matters. Candidates pay attention to who shows up. A full room of engaged, pro-housing voters sends an unmistakable signal that these issues decide votes in Gainesville. Our turnout is our leverage. The bigger our showing, the harder it is for anyone to treat housing and transit as afterthoughts.

Housing & Transit Candidate Forum

Monday, July 13, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

LifeSouth Community Blood Center, 1221 NW 13th Street, Gainesville, FL 32601

Free and open to the public. No RSVP required.

We've teamed up with Gainesville Citizens for Active Transportation (GCAT) to put 12 candidates across 5 local races on the record about housing and transportation ahead of the August 18 election. Both organizations will weigh endorsements afterward, so these answers matter.

The evening runs in two parts: City Commission candidates first, then County Commission candidates.

- City Commission, District 2: Nathan Crabbe, Nelida Jean-Baptiste, Wyatt Clark Zintiz

- City Commission, District 3: Casey Willits

- County Commission, District 2: Donna Bradbrook, Tina Certain, Charlie Jackson, Byran Williams

- County Commission, District 4: Dewayne Baines, Ken Cornell
