Gainesville during the summer gets a little quieter as students head home, but there’s still plenty of important work to do. We’ll be hosting a candidate forum, and we’ll keep advocating for a more connected, sustainable, and people-friendly community for everyone in the City’s comprehensive plan. Our next book club selection is The Sprawl Repair Manual by Galina Tachieva. Join us at Grand Scheme Brewing, Mon, May 18, 7-9pm.

We'll be chatting about our three organizations, the advocacy we've been doing, what makes Gainesville great, and how we can work together to continue the good fight. Join us at Grand Scheme Brewing to finish our conversation on the Imagine Comprehensive Plan to make sure it's forward-thinking, inclusive, and grounded in abundance rather than scarcity. If we want a city that welcomes new neighbors, supports transit, builds housing people can afford, and invests in safe streets, we need people who believe in that future to show up too.

If you missed the G4P book club, don't worry! We're meeting Mon, Jan 19, 7-9pm at Humble Wood Fire. City staff and planners will be on hand to answer questions. Come by and add your suggestions to make the Imagine GNV comp plan stronger! If you haven't read the whole document, we suggest concentrating on 4. Where We Live, 5. How We Build, and 6. How We Get Around. Our meeting will focus on providing advocacy on these sections because they affect housing most. However, the whole plan is important!
