Today we honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., a leader who exemplified service, character, and community. He was a Scout in Troop 151 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, now part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, where his father—and later Dr. King himself—served as pastors.

The rumors are true: Martin Luther King Jr. was a Boy Scout. He was registered as a member of Troop 151, which met at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
