Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for a young man is help him recognize the greatness already within him.

At our October AFGM Meetup, Dr. Eric Bell, Chairman of our Board of Directors, led an inspiring mirror exercise that encouraged our young men to see themselves differently, believe in their potential, and recognize the importance of lifting others up.

This is what A Few Good MENtors is all about. Real conversations. Meaningful relationships. And men showing up to help shape the next generation.

And the momentum continues!

We’re coming together again on Saturday, November 7, from 10 AM to noon, as we focus on our next S.H.I.E.L.D.S. core value: HEALTH!

Today is a special day for our family.

A Few Good MENtors is officially 7 years old.

When this journey started in 2019, I couldn’t have imagined all the mentors, young men, parents, volunteers, board members, businesses, donors, partners, and friends who would eventually become part of it.

October 1 also carries a lot of personal meaning for me. It’s my late father’s birthday and my mother-in-law’s birthday. The values my parents taught our family became the foundation for what we now call S.H.I.E.L.D.S.

To everyone who has prayed for us, supported us, trusted us, challenged us, given to us, or simply told someone about AFGM, thank you.

Happy Anniversary, AFGM family.
