๐ Make a Difference. Become a Victim Services Volunteer.
Alachua County Victim Services and R**e Crisis Center is seeking caring, compassionate individuals to become volunteer helpline counselors.
๐ Volunteers provide support to victims and survivors of violent crime through the agencyโs 24/7 crisis helpline, including nights, weekends and holidays when the office is closed.
๐ Fall volunteer training begins Sept. 1 and runs for seven weeks, with sessions every Tuesday and Thursday through Oct. 15. Training includes crisis intervention, advocacy, sexual violence and interpersonal crimes, plus interactive role-plays with agency staff.
โจ Training is provided at no cost, and successful participants receive Advocacy Core Training certification through the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence. Following training, volunteers are asked to make a minimum nine-month commitment.
