Today Pack 16 hit the trail at Sawnee Mountain Preserve, hiking up to Indian Seats and taking in some incredible North Georgia views along the way! 🥾⛰️

Along the trail, our Scouts also put their creativity to work by building fairy houses from natural materials they found in the woods. From tiny stick cabins to moss-covered cottages, each creation was unique and showed off the imagination and teamwork that make Cub Scouting so much fun. 🧚‍♀️🏡

A great day of adventure, exploration, and outdoor fun with friends and family. These are the memories that last a lifetime!

Good food just makes everything better… even Scouting events. 🔥

This weekend at NEGA Scout Show, Pack 16 launched the inaugural Cast Iron Canteen—and let’s just say, it did not disappoint. From loaded mac & cheese to nachos and hot dogs, it quickly became the place to refuel, catch your breath, and swap stories from the day’s adventures. Because when you’re climbing, exploring, racing, and learning… you need something solid to keep you going.

But what made it even more special was the community behind it.

A huge thank you to Poseymetalworx for gifting Pack 16 a one-of-a-kind, handmade dinner bell—crafted right there at Scout Show. That bell is going to ring in a lot of future meals, memories, and moments for our Scouts.
Good food. Great people. Lasting traditions. That’s what it’s all about. 🍴🔔

Parking, activity zones, Pinewood Derby, food, and all the action—it’s all laid out to make your day easy and enjoyable.

A big thank you to BSA Troop 228 for sharing their festival logistics plan and advice. We’re using the same proven parking approach they’ve successfully used, and it’s going to help everything run smoothly for both Scouts and the community.

We couldn’t be prouder of our Pack 16 crossovers this weekend!

Just weeks after crossing over, they jumped right into their first Troop 16 backpacking adventure on the Appalachian Trail—and handled it like champs. Rain, miles, and all the challenges that come with your first trip… and they kept going. That’s exactly the kind of grit and spirit we love to see.

We’re also proud that two of our Pack 16 leaders were able to join the outing, supporting the Scouts and seeing firsthand the next step in their journey.

It’s a special thing to watch these Scouts grow from Cubs into confident, capable members of a troop.
Once Pack 16, always Pack 16—and we’ll always be cheering you on.

Three of our amazing leaders just took a big step in their Scouting journey this weekend… and we couldn’t be prouder.

This weekend, Pack 16 and Scouts BSA Troop 16/5016 Gainesville were represented at Wood Badge Weekend 1—the premier leadership training in Scouting. It’s a challenging, high-energy experience focused on teamwork, communication, and bringing even stronger programs back to our Scouts.

They spent the weekend learning, leading, problem-solving, and yes… probably functioning on a little less sleep than usual. 😄 But more importantly, they’re coming back with new ideas, fresh perspective, and a renewed commitment to making Pack 16 and Troop 16 the best they can be.

Be sure to congratulate them when you see them—and get ready, because the real fun starts now as they put those Wood Badge skills into action!

Adventure is calling at the NEGA Scout Show … and Pack 16 is ready to jump in!

From our youngest Cubs to older Scouts, you’ll see youth in action—building, racing, climbing, creating, and putting real Scouting skills to the test right in the heart of downtown.

Right in the middle of it all? The Northeast Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America Pinewood Derby Finals. Fast cars, tight races, and plenty of cheering as the top racers in the council compete for 2026 bragging rights.

If you’ve ever been curious about what Scouting actually looks like, this is your chance to experience it firsthand.

Pack 16 showed up strong at the District Pinewood Derby this year! 🏁

We had an incredible group of Scouts representing us with creativity, sportsmanship, and some seriously fast cars. From eye-catching designs to nail-biting races, our Pack made us proud every step of the way.

Win or lose, these Scouts demonstrated what it means to do your best, cheer each other on, and have a whole lot of fun doing it. Huge shoutout to our racers and the families who helped get those cars track-ready—we couldn’t do it without you!

Pack 16 put their strength, stamina, and teamwork to the test this week 💪🐾

Our Cub Scouts tackled an obstacle course, pushed through challenges, and jumped right into team games that kept everyone moving and laughing. From racing through stations to cheering on their friends, these Scouts showed what it means to stay active, support each other, and have fun doing it.

This is what the Physical Fitness adventures are all about—building healthy habits, confidence, and a whole lot of Scout spirit along the way!

Pack 16 had an unforgettable spring campout at Camp Mikell this weekend—and it was everything a Scout adventure should be! 🌿

From critter catching by the creek to splashing around during water play, our Cubs stayed busy exploring and making the most of the outdoors. We hit the trails for some great hiking, burned off energy with nonstop rounds of Gaga Ball and kickball, and wrapped it all up with some seriously yummy camp food (because everything tastes better outside, right?).

But the best part? The laughter, the friendships, and watching our Scouts grow a little more confident and independent with every new experience.
