How many many people try to direct the behavior of challenging kids. Many adults don't even realized how hard wired they are to use this approach or how they default to this when behaviors become exceptionally challenging.
But just like with Matilda, many bright kids have a strong sense of justice, they question authority and have a strong sense of fairness, so this approach just DOES NOT WORK!
