This group has been going full speed for almost seven years, a testament to the power of dedication and perseverance. What began as a humble idea nurtured in the comfort of my home, soon blossomed into a vibrant entity that outgrew its initial space, thanks to Jeffrey Clancy’s generosity in providing us with a new space. As we reflect on our incredible journey, it's clear that divine providence has played a significant role in our success. Following my heart has been my guiding principle, and I'm grateful for the invaluable companionship of Jana Traymany and Jerry Proffer, who share my passion for empowering our community. Together, we form a formidable team, driven by our love for our community and our desire to see each member thrive. As we embark on this new chapter, we remain committed to our core values, inspired by our faith and our determination to make a lasting impact.
I want to thank each and everyone of you that has helped us along the way. We depend on you to make these acts of kindness possible. We solely depend on you for any monetary donations, food donations, children’s items, heaters/ac units, homeless care packages/supplies/motel assistance, donated prom dresses, and any other wild hair we get that we want to do in the community to bless others. Our hearts are truly in this. We love what we do. Being a volunteer and serving those in need as we can, truly brings new meaning to a kindness, hope, and love!
I will share our REVISED Amazon Wishlist in hopes of clearing the list by March 2nd. Every year I do a Birthday Fundraiser to replenish our food pantry. I turn 45 this year, and I’d love to make this year be our biggest outcome to date! So far we have approximately 230 items purchased for our Food Pantry. My personal goal is reaching 500+ by March 2nd. We would have so much food that would probably last us almost a year!
We have received 500.00 donation. We are going to use those funds to buy hamburger meat by the pound at Hess Meat Market. The last time we purchased meat from them it was around 800.00-900.00. I’ll look for that receipt and share it in the comments. We would love if we could possibly get help funding the remaining balance of that cost. We bought chicken from Tom Thumb and spent close to 300.00 there.
Things not added to the Amazon Wishlist because they are too expensive is Chicken Helper, Tuna Helper (I only found one brand that was cheap enough to add), and canned vegetables. We pass out green beans and corn with every person we help. We would love a couple of sponsors to help keep these items in stock for us.
We would love to have 1/2 gallon size milk, bread, and fresh eggs should anyone want to donate any of those. We have TONS of egg cartons we can exchange for the eggs! I know eggs are crazy expensive rn, but I know some of you have more chickens laying eggs than you know what to do with!
People are always asking me what do we need or how can you help…. These are a few ways we could use your assistance. It’s very hard for me to ask for help. I’m one of those that will try and do it all on my own. Having Jana and Jerry along side me, I’ve learned to allow others to take on task and responsibilities and to trust their work. So now we have all assigned each other task to do at RAK that play on our strengths. It’s working out great so far!
If you would prefer shopping elsewhere instead of Amazon, we are perfectly okay with that, and quite frankly we welcome it! Some of the Amazon prices are higher than store prices, but it’s very convenient. We are happy to pick up a Walmart order should you place an order and want us to grab it for you! I’ve done this before twice for members. Jenifer Franklin, manager at Dollar Tree, in Gainesville, has had a food drive at their store for us going on 3 years I believe. She may have another one this year. We welcome store brand food items! We are happy to receive any help you have to offer! If you prefer to send funds for us to purchase the food ourselves, we have Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, Messenger Pay, and we will accept cash/checks!
We are very hopeful for a great year for 2025! I have some things up my sleeve I am interested in doing! Stay tuned….
With Kind Regards,
