On the eve of America’s 250th Independence Day, I nominate my friend Oscar Brown Oscar H. Brown for as we celebrate not only our country’s birth but the origin of Desire Street Ministries back in 1990. Oscar has loved his Thrive 9th Ward neighbors well since the beginning and I am so grateful for his continued love and leadership for the Desire community.

This 250th Independence Day, love your neighbors by recognizing their impact on you, your family, or community.

Thanks for the challenge James Gadsby - I challenge coachjonsumrall DT Shackelford Thaddeus Bullard and Laura Rutledge to nominate their neighbors also to keep the love going! ❤️🤍💙

As we close out the year, we’re taking a moment to look back on one of our most meaningful highlights. The 2025 PickleBowl: Heisman Edition, presented by the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, was more than an event, it was a celebration of service, leadership, and community. Grateful for everyone who made it so special, supported our mission and for the moments that will carry into the year ahead. Happy new year!
